WHITENING:  

   At The St Louis Center For Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry we believe that a whiter smile is a healthier smile.  Therefore, for all new patients we will make them custom bleach trays.. The whitening process consists of wearing upper and lower custom trays filled with 28% Oral B Rembrandt bleach.   The trays are worn everyday for two weeks for about 1 hour.  This procedure is used when you have stained or discolored teeth, but otherwise like your smile the way it is.  The whitening process is also used in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures to get your teeth looking their best.  Call today to set up an appointment with one of St Louis cosmetic dentists. 

PORCELAIN VENEERS:  
   Veneers are an increasingly popular procedure.  Porcelain veneers enable you to rejuvenate and revitalize your smile achieving perfect teeth.  The realistic and natural appearance of porcelain veneers can drastically enhance your smile.  Veneers are thin custom make porcelain laminates that cover only the fronts of teeth. They are crafted from tooth colored, high-tech materials to portray a natural, bright smile.  They are used to cover unattractive gaps, mask stained teeth, or straighten crooked teeth.  (See picture gallery to left and below).  Veneers are intended  to last for many years or even decades, depending on the type of  homecare.  Unlike most bonding materials, veneers will not stain, fade or change colors.  Veneers are made differently for each patient, giving each and every patient a unique look.  It is nearly impossible to tell the difference between a veneer and a natural tooth.

HOW ARE VENEERS APPLIED: 
    First a preliminary impression is made of your existing teeth and sent to our dental laboratory.  A cosmetic wax up is done to show you how your new smile will look.  At this point, you have the ability to talk with us about any changes in shape, size or shade you would like to make.  A custom shade will be taken by our lab.   The tooth is reshaped to allow for the minimal thickness of a veneer.  A mold (impression) is taken of the reshaped tooth/teeth and sent to our qualified dental laboratory, where the veneer is custom made to fit your smile.  While the lab is making your veneers, you will have temporaries on these teeth for approximately 2-3 weeks.  These temporaries will be natural looking, and give a good portrayal of how your new smile will look.  The final veneers will be applied with an adhesive material which bonds it to the original tooth structure.  Therfore, in 2-3 weeks you can have a new, improved, and confident looking smile.
